Re: Ballot on Labour Relations Commission
Cost Containment Proposals
Members are advised that the above ballot has resulted in: 61% for and 39% against.
We have communicated the result to the Company (correspondence circulated) and advised them that we now intend to immediately begin the process with regard to getting the Cost Management Committee to function in the best interests of all staff.
We intend to hold both the Company and the NTA to account in relation to waste and appropriate funding.
We will be insisting that all of the actions agreed as part of the cost savings agenda will be recorded and circulated to all staff on a periodic basis (schedule to be advised) along with updated status reports on individual items.
We are acutely aware that the process involving the NTA and the future financial infrastructure of the Company will present its own challenges, however we are fully committed to ensuring that the debate will include as a matter of priority the necessity to match service levels with the appropriate Government funding.
Furthermore it is imperative that frontline staff would contact their Union representatives with regard to advancing information, questions and requests in relation to the whole area of cost savings. This will be facilitated on an anonymous basis should staff deem it necessary to so do.
Members are assured that this Trade Union are not prepared to allow a situation to develop whereby the Company can just ride off into the sunset with a portion of your pay and not be held accountable for other areas of expenditure.

General Secretary
