NOTICE to MEMBERS

Re: Restoration of Terms and Conditions

Members will be aware that the NBRU wrote to the Company on the 20th January with regard to the above. Along with other representative Trade Unions, we met with the CEO and Human Resources Manager on the 10th February for an update on the financial situation at the Company (see previous NTM).

The NBRU reminded the Company that the Labour Court provided for an acceleration clause which would give effect to an early restoration of the terms and conditions to all staff.

A further meeting was convened for today in order to hear the Company’s response.

The Company indicated that they would meet with all the grades separately to outline the detail around what they described as a phased re-introduction of terms and conditions beginning in mid-March.

It is understood that whilst there may be commonality across some grades with regard to certain retrenchment measures, i.e. overtime/premium payment, rest-day payment, Bank Holiday payment, there are others which may be grade-specific.

Having regard to the foregoing, we are prepared in the first instance to allow for such grade engagements, the first being drivers on Monday 2nd March.

The Company were further reminded that the issue of pay trajectory as outlined in our pay claim, initially notified on the 2nd April 2014, requires to be addressed, not least in the context of an unprecedented seven year hiatus in pay awards.

Members will be informed with regard to further developments.
