Industrial Action in Opposition to Bus Route Tendering/Privatisation

Dear Sir,

I refer to your correspondence in which you request that the NBRU would desist from engaging in Industrial Action in relation to the above.

The NBRU position in relation to a number of the core issues was conveyed to the Minister on the 15th April, we also attended at an informal engagement with the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport on the 16th April.

The LRC also sought clarity in relation to the NBRU position over the last number of days.

The recent statements from the Minister, along with an acknowledgement from the Department that our concerns with regard to 2019 were well-founded, led us to believe, that a basis might emerge to assist in facilitating negotiations around the range of issues advanced by all stakeholders.

However, it is a matter for the Labour Relations Commission to establish if there is a basis for calling on all parties to attend at discussions to comprehensibly address all of the issues, inclusive of those to which you refer.

In the meantime our position in relation to our Industrial Action in opposition to Dublin Bus’s facilitation of the tendering/privatisation of bus routes, remains as advised on the 20th April 2015.

Yours Sincerely
