Re: Labour Relations Commission Proposals Cost Containment

Dear Sir,

I refer to the above and wish to advise that our members have balloted to accept the LRC proposals issued on the 3rd September 2014.

We now request that an immediate meeting be convened to discuss the logistics associated with reviewing the effectiveness of the Cost Management Committee as set out in the LRC proposals.

It is our intention to advance a position whereby an initial agreed list of identified cost saving targets can be achieved.

This list (which should be circulated to all staff) should include (but not be limited to) the following:

• Management numbers inclusive of manager-staff ratio
• Cost of Contractors
• Cost of Consultants
• Elimination of Waste
• Revenue Collection

The NBRU envisages a scenario whereby issues (such as the above) will be not only addressed but will also be communicated to staff on a periodic basis, i.e. the actions taken along with the current status of identified targets.

Our members have been particularly vocal in terms of the whole area of waste and are determined that their voice should not only be heard but actually acted upon.

Furthermore it should be noted that the Cost Management Committee is not an industrial relations forum and we will not be party to any attempt to address such issues through this committee.

Yours Sincerely
