NOTICE to MEMBERS
Re: Protest March 23rd July 2014
Members are advised that the Labour Relations Commission has requested that we would attend at exploratory discussions on Wednesday 23rd July with regard to the Governments policy to Privatise 10% of Dublin Bus and Bus Eireann Bus Routes.
Members will be aware that one of the main issues associated with our campaign against Privatisation is the fact that those tasked with overseeing the policy, namely the NTA were adamant that they would not discuss staff issues, despite the threat to 440 bus workers jobs.
However we have now been informed by the LRC that in fact the NTA are now prepared to engage and will be attending at the discussions.
Given this potentially positive development we have asked the organisers of the Protest March scheduled for the 23rd July to temporarily postpone their protest pending these discussions.
It has now been agreed that they would so do.
Members will be advised as to the outcome of these initial discussions in advance of further anti-privatisation campaign initiatives.
